Golf Dynamics


Our customer is a Miami, USA-based golf person who is strongly inclined to create a personalized framework based on windows that can simultaneously collect and view data from the practice session of golf players in real-time. The customer’s application was designed to detect magnetic trackers in real-time 3D biomechanical data. This information gathered can be used both in applied and coaching studies.

The customer approached Shivagya Infosoft in the concept of developing a ‘golf simulation system,’ allowing computers to analyze the data obtained by hitting a shot, then displaying the 3D animation output and synthesizing it as a biomechanical study.

Key challenges of the project were:

  • The communication between the host machine and the registered system could not be effective
  • 240 Hz data collection from six separate sensors without a single record lacking
  • Cannot guarantee 3D motion capture system signals are synchronized
  • Digital signals cannot be processed
  • Inability to produce 3D golfer animation based on sensor data
  • Essential frame/instant cannot be designed and calculated in time
  • Choose the right model/display animation mix.
  • Redimensioning the animation models/meshes to accommodate the proportions of each golfer
